Yuga as a foil for Izuku is so fascinating because they were both born quirkless but that’s where the similarities end. In every way Yuga was privileged while Izuku was disadvantaged. But Yuga’s privilege resulted in him basically being shoehorned into doing villainous things while Izuku was given the biggest possible helping hand despite his disadvantage.

And that’s why I’m so so SO feral over Izuku reaching out to Yuga and telling him he can still be a hero, no matter what he’s done in the past. Izuku was given the chance so he’s got to make sure others get it too.

I haven't even read the ending and I won't have a full opinion on it until the actual chapter comes out, but from I have seen about "loose ends"... I could imagine that Gege actually wanted to explore more but there are certain reasons that kind of halted that. Similarly, like with MHA's ending.

(I'm sorry but I'm not deciding on just leaks on whether a chapter is good or bad.)

It just feels odd to me. I don't know, it just does.

I think about the overall scheduling and that Gege can't and can do certain things because he does work with other people he has answer to. I wouldn't be surprised if after this, Gege comes out with a statement saying there was a lot he wanted to continue to explore but couldn't due to reasons. There's also Gege's health to consider.

Whether the ending got fumbled or not, again, I don't know. I'm not here defending Gege or making excuses, but putting insight and why the ending possibly became what it is.

Hell, just last year people were upset because how some of the episodes of the anime looked but then it's turns out how the workers literally had to crunch for time and apologized (which I think was just so sad to do because the animation and pacing was fine for me and I know that has to be hard to do with little time to perfect it but some of you couldn't relate but I digress) as if they are actually to blame when they're just employees.

Maybe it is just me but it just seems odd to me.

And I know some people are upset about Gojo. If you are, I'm not holding it against you. I like him, too and yeah, I'm shedding a tear or two.

However, how this fandom acts now compared to before is such major whiplash for me.

Some of you want to throw around "Gege hates Gojo" so much but Gege is the same creator who gave the audience Gojo and a story to understand and yet a lot of people still mischaracterize him and only see him as "a hot character" or "the powerhouse that should come back because how dare he be happy in the afterlife" or "the blue eyed twink".

Actually, I find that some of you probably hate canon Gojo more than Gege supposedly does because of all these different versions that the fandom have conjured up.

The most Gojo did deserve is a funeral after he died and I get being upset if he didn't get that in the story, I would be upset for sure.

But given how much I have seen the fandom act when it comes to Satoru Gojo's character, I'm taking a lot of opinions on "Gege mistreated Gojo's character", the ending and everything else with a very teeny grain of salt. Yeah, be "critical" all you want but it just seems for anything nowadays that's all people want to do without considering other factors.

You can still hate or like something and acknowledge other things that play into why that something is the way it is.

Tell me more about your feelings on Hazbin Hotel.

Part of me doesn’t want to answer this question, because of how popular this show is on Tumblr.

And I know that people will be like.

“What do you know, you’re a Christian, of Course you’d have some problems with it.”

Yes, I am going to disclose that. I am a Christian. Not ashamed of that. Still working to be a better one. But I can be objective enough to view it as a writer, and that at most my personal bias will only be a slight enhancement of my view.

And these are my unfiltered thoughts on this show.

But for my opinion of Hazbin hotel. The original Pilot was interesting. A place trying to reform sinners in the last place people would think to be reformed. (Spoilers ahead)

That pilot premise is interesting. You see Hell as a cesspool of the absolute worse people. (Like Los Angeles but with more cannibalism) and it takes the “Hell is other people approach”

The songs were fine, the animation was great, and the characters introduced were intriguing. So much potential depth to them, theories can speculate. And of course the big question of. “Can someone in hell actually be redeemed?” And we even have a character pointing out “of course not, they’re in hell. Their chance was before this?”

It raised this question of, if you know your doomed, why try to be a good person? And That is fascinating.

Then the show finally airs. And it’s just another “Heaven is corrupt” storyline. And it’s not even done well.

(The whole retelling of creation made my eyes roll. Trying to make Lucifer to be the good guy? How original (sarcasm). And not even done well. Because it’s Charlie narrating this, which makes it be like Charlie knows all this and is doing all of this pointlessly)

Hells gonna rise up against it and all that. The hotel was basically pointless.

The show goes on to constantly contradict itself at numerous points that leaves me more confused.

Yes there is an interesting character (Alastor) but outside of a great soundtrack and animation… the writing of the show is a mess.

It feels both rushed and too slow. The characters are speedrunning their arcs, yet the plot is crawling.

Let’s then not forget the fact that Angel power and weapons are said to be the only thing that Perma kills sinners and angels. Yet sir pretentious dies and instead of permadead, goes to heaven? What fucking logic is that?

Also it says how only Angel weapons and powers can hurt angels (they make a whole point about it) only to show Vaggie and Lute have a whole ass fight hurting eachother with tables and s***. Unless they’ve been blessed them chairs…

Also where do the souls that perma die go? Detroit? Because if Sir pretentious can go to heaven after dying, what the deal with all this? Is Hell actually hell? Seems more like purgatory.

And then you include the helluva boss lore as they take place in the same universe. And MORE questions get added.

But that’s a can of worms for another time.

More importantly, Charlie, the main character hardly gets any development moments. Her issues are TOLD not showed.

Vaggie is also a mess too, like her whole thing is protecting Charlie, and helping her. But then she gets told that she has to fight For Love and that’s how to win? You mean what she’s BEEN DOING THE WHOLE TIME?!

All the stuff with Angel Dust, the writing for that is fine when showing the messed up situation he’s in, but then after the Song “Loser, Baby” he’s suddenly months sober? Speedrunning a bit too much.

Side note: HOW DOES HEAVEN NOT KNOW HOW PEOPLE GET INTO HEAVEN?!

Like they genuinely seem like they don’t know? From my understanding, there is no Big Man making all the calls. Thats not corruption. Thats incompetence.

So if it’s just angels in charge, THEY should know. Like show that they’re tilting the scale or maybe denying certain people that DO follow the criteria. Because with the incompetency of it, it basically leaves the door open for potentially EVERYONE to get into heaven.

Yet then the show shows how awful people in hell are, like it’s clear there are people that deserve hell. Maybe I’m overthinking it, maybe I’m not thinking about it enough. But it’s a really dumb system.

But the biggest glaring hole in this show is the fact that there is no point for heaven to actually do the purge in the first place.

Hell being overpopulated shouldn’t matter. Only Angel power and weapons can actually hurt angels. Why would they worry about an uprising. Heaven could easily wipe hell. The only people that could probably do damage is Lucifer and the leaders of the rings of hell. And even then… That’s like 7 against ALL OF HEAVEN!? Even if we assume overlords and some high level demons could do similar… Heaven still takes it. (But then again the Lute and Vaggie fight might contradict that. Hard to say it’s so confusing)

That all aside, is it an awful show? No. It’s just so riddled with plotholes and pacing issues.

Would I recommend this show to people? No.

Would I recommend the sound track? Probably, the songs are catchy. Can’t deny that.

Everyone has their own opinions and tastes, but the show has too much of a mess for me.

Triumph's interlude is weird.

If you go around asking, a lot of people will say that what Taylor did to Triumph was one of the worst things she did, and she'd probably agree just with how much it hit her afterwards. She felt so guilty she went back to her dad that night.

And while Skitter's portion made me feel like she had just crossed a line, getting to Triumph's POV made me kind of shrug and go okay. You'd think we'd finally see the aftereffects of the Undersider's fighting habits, Skitter's in particular. While Triumph was the one to have an allergic reaction, both he and Prism got bugs sent up their urinary tracks and stuff like that. Prism doesn't even have a healing factor like Triumph and his is minor.

But all Prism does is complain how Skitter accidentally hit her trauma button with her leg injury at the end and downplays it by saying how Skitter made sure it wouldn't be long lasting anyway. Triumph is barely affected by his near death and agrees with Miss Militia to not get revenge for his family being threatened.

Even that attempt at sticking to the rules of the PRT and not going vigilante is undercut immediately when Piggot brings in Defiant. Triumph shows an initial outrage, but immediately backs down to keep Dragon's mechs in the city. Heck, there was more of a reaction to Defiant being a cyborg than there was to the injuries Triumph got from Taylor.

And the thing is, not being angry at Skitter could have worked. Triumph spends the last few paragraphs sympathizing with and understanding Armsmaster. He gets why Assault and Clockblocker want to go on the attack. He tries to figure out why Vista was good to go along with it. The chapter could have very easily began with him or Prism angry or fearful of Skitter before we get to the rest of the chapter. Assault blaming the Undersiders for Battery's death, the PRT approving Defiant and everyone else going along with it, Triumph's own thoughts on how he swore he'd be a better person than the rich kid who went to dad for superpowers in a can and failing. The chapter even ends in the place where Piggot and Legend tried to kill the Undersiders with the bombing run!

Have him wonder if Skitter and the others are breaking rules because the heroes broke the rules without consequence. Armsmaster is still a hero. Piggot is still Director. Legend is still Protectorate leader. Make him wonder what the villains view is. Make him wonder what the civilians view of them is, especially given how there was just a chapter of Skitter managing things in her territory.

Or, you know. Just have Triumph be angry and fearful of Skitter. Make it so that her attacks made an active bias against her. That's fine! It's understandable. But instead he agrees with Miss Militia and nothing in his internal narration indicates any particularly strong emotions towards her or Trickster for threatening his family. It's just odd.

But nah. Instead of the heroes trying to understand the villains-something Triumph stops Clockblocker from doing with Skitter in 22.1 despite this being after his cousin is freed by her- or dealing with the aftermath of Taylor and the villains going overboard their attacks, we end it with Triumph relating towards Armsmaster and his struggles. Poor Armsy. You'd almost forget he tried to kill a 15 year old twice over.

I am all about Hualian 10000%. It's just a matter of preference, and I'll explain why I like one better than the other, but I'm not crapping on Wangxian shippers at all. Something for everyone haha!

Here's the thing. I like a lot about Wangxian. They've got a very Kirk/Spock thing a lot of the time that is eternally entertaining. But I just don't like the way they have sex. I dislike the way they have sex so much that it kind of retroactively made me less interested in the pairing as a whole. More specifically, I don't like how Lan Wangji does sex. People had warned me about it and I was like, "Eh, but I'm fine with CNC, all I need is that first C, so it's fiiiine." But. Nope. Thankfully this isn't a personal trigger for me, just a very firm preference, but I just...to quote myself in a previous post, "while the book did a good job convincing me that Wei Wuxian is into everything Lan Wangji does to him, it didn't do a good job convincing me that Lan Wangji knows that for sure, or is in control of himself, or would stop if Wei Wuxian didn't like something." That just isn't to my taste.

On the other hand, Hualian are also implied to be having rough and kinky sex, but there's much more of a feeling that they're communicating about it. I'm not expecting them to like, have a formal safeword or anything, but even just:

"Sorry, I went overboard last night," Hua Cheng apologized. It took a moment for Xie Lian to realize what he meant, and he quickly waved his hands. "Wh-what are you saying? That's not it at all--everything's fine!" Hua Cheng arched an eyebrow. "Is that so? If everything is fine even after that, does that mean I didn't go overboard last night? Does that mean I can...?"

Or

"Is gege not coming up to join me?" But if he went up there, when would Xie Lian have a a chance to come back down? At that point, they could forget about doing anything else for a while. "Nah." Xie Lian declined politely. "My San Lang has overworked himself." "Nah," Hua Cheng laughed. "How could San Lang ever be afraid of hard work when it comes to working gege hard?"

Like. They're goofy about it and Hua Cheng loves to tease Xie Lian but they are actually talking about sex when they're not having sex. There's a degree to which they're communicating outside of the heat of the moment. And even in the amnesia extra (which makes me feel so bad for Hua Cheng omg he's being surprisingly chill but I need to write some meta about how miserable he must be during that) Xie Lian's fuzzy memories of what he at first assumes was a rape are full of the sense of being gentled and cherished and of their fingers and red strings tangling even as he's held down and roughed up.

Also the chapter opening with,

Laughing, Xie Lian pushed Hua Cheng off him -- his crushing weight was making it hard to breathe. The heat and passion had yet to subside when something suddenly occurred to him. "Oh yeah, San Lang," he began offhandedly.

That's so stinking cute I can't. They are so comfortable. Nothing in their relationship overall or in the hints of their sex life we see implies in the slightest that Hua Cheng isn't in control of himself in the most important ways (I do tend to think of him being a shaking crying coming-too-soon mess the first few times, but that's a very different kind of out of control lol). He worships Xie Lian, literally. Lan Wangji has this underlying layer of horny anger born in a repressed childhood; Hua Cheng's horny is all built on reverence. THAT IS MY JAM.

As for SVSSS, I think I will probably read it if only to try to figure out what on earth its fandom is talking about. It's...like an isekai I think? Which is not usually my thing, but at this point I feel like I gotta round out the trio haha!

As much as I absolutely adore the new short (even though pitchfake gives me psychic damage /lh) I feel like there's something that needs to be said considering the new attitude towards Pitchfork and Glowstick.

Glowstick realizing his actions were wrong does not entirely excuse him from those behaviors.

I don't hate Glowstick at all, and I think the short has certainly made me think more highly of him, but people immediately forgiving him for his actions is kind of concerning me, especially when he still has a ways to go. He's on his first step towards moving on, and especially since it's canonically recognized that he stalked and harassed Pitchfork, I find it kind of weird that people are immediately glossing over the fact.

Pitchfork's anger towards Glowstick is not invalidated because of Glowstick's remorse, though I'm really glad that we're seeing Glowstick become more fleshed out. AIB characters are never in black or white!! Neither of those two are perfect or flawed beyond redemption. But that's something that has to be recognized, that no matter which one of those two you prefer, none of them are perfect. And personally, I don't think Glowstick's arc will ever be complete unless he properly apologizes.

Raisin has properly called out Glowstick on his actions (peepaw W) but there's still a lot more that has to be done. And although I'm excited to see where their arcs will go from here, there's still a lot more development that has to happen.

I do hope that someone does properly talk and communicate with Pitchfork though...Chip Bag and Tivo do seem like the most likely options.
